Addie turns 2

The birthday girl celebrates aT her really big Party on Jan 1 2011. Turning 2 on December 31 and celebrating a day later. About 40 people made the scene and she got plenty of new toys to keep her busy throughout the year. I wonder if it is hard having a birthday and Christmas all in the same week!

back again 2011

It's a New Year AGAIN. So I now have a 'new' daughter- Brittany has officially joined the family Oct 24 2010 with her marriage to William. It was a beautiful wedding on a beautiful day in Frederick County Maryland.

Work at Volvo Construction Equipment is keeping me busy. I spent the holiday with friends and family and a COLD. I had an MRI for my shoulder and found out I have severe arthritis in my toe.

I don't think I am aging gracefully.

After the Bluesfest 20210

Nathanael was the Bluesfest artist and we are so proud of him and his career. Kim and NCR came home for several days so it was great to visit with them and enjoy the Blues music and the art show downtown.

Thanks to Sherry I we got VIP passes and enjoyed the evening with Sherry, Nancy, Aziz and Neikirk Family's. Dancing and partying through the night. We stopped at the Corner Pub and spent time with Matty Hobby, Amanda from NYC and the other Hobby siblings.

I've been looking for work, working in the garden and even sold 22 of my homemade mushrooms. I have golfed a good better but not improving at all. Was my golf lesson even worth it?

Some photo shots of the past month or so............. Have a good summer.

Mushrooms-Made in Asheville by JGR

This is the basket of Polymer Clay mushrooms I made while I was in Asheville, NC visiting Kim and Nathanael. I blended several colors together and shaped the heads in various styles and made a stem for the heads to sit on. I inserted Metal wire in the stem so half of it is extend out and the completed mushroom could be put in the ground. I actually indent the stem into the underside of the mushroom cap and then separate for curing in the oven. This allows a 'place' holding for glueing the top to the bottom after curing. I found that Super Glue works great, put a dab on the cap where the indent was made and then hold the stem on the glue and in a minute it's done.
I hand kneaded the polymer clay various colors together, roll in a ball, flatten a bit, shape the mushroom cap however you chose. The stem is about 1/2" diameter, but use logic based on the weight or size of the cap.
Have fun!.. These hold up great in the weather, actually mine made it through 59" of snow outside this past winter. Not an easy task for anyone.

Back From Asheville April 2010

The week of April 17 2010 concludes with the Nordstorm's Trend show event with Claudette, Kate and Sara and I attending. We are all so beautiful now with our

new make overs and special sample productsl What an event.

I spent the week in Asheville with #1 son Nathanael and Kim. It was the time to plant the gardens, chill out, visit with their friends, hit consignment shops and see the Biltmore in Spring.

I also had a nice birthday dinner with my son and a super day exploring Spring time at the Biltmore. I explored the new Antler Village and met the father in law of the Vanderbilt family running the Biltmore today.

The azalea trail, the beautiful spring bulbs and the Pond Trail also made the absolutely beautiful birthday in Asheville. The weather could not have been any nicer.

Still looking for a job... I am put of the trend of unemployed in America. Learning to live frugally again and appreciating the quite more peaceful days on the mountain.

Will and Brittany were kind to have a magazine of Dallas sent to me for my birthday and George is going to provide me mulch and flowers when the weather turns consistantly more warmer.

HOPE EVERYONE is enjoying the Spring.
